God's Hand is Always in Action... You're Just Not Meant to See It Most Times 2016.11.18

I came across a story and I'd like to share it with you.

"The lone survivor of a shipwreck washed up to the shore of an uninhabited island. He immediately thanked God for sparing his life but also prayed feverishly for Him to send someone to rescue him. But each day, he would scan the horizon but see nothing but water.

Growing tired, he managed to build himself some shelter out of driftwood, to protect him from the elements, and a place to store his few possessions.

One day, after scavenging for food, he came back to find his hut in flames, with smoke billowing into the sky. He became overwhelmed, as if he hasn't been through enough - now, everything was lost. Stunned with disbelief & anger, he cried out, "God! How could you do this to me?!?"

Early the next day, he awoke to the sound of a ship approaching the island! It had come to rescue him!
"How did you know that I was here" asked the man to his rescuers.
"We saw your smoke signal" they replied.

A good portion of the time, it's very difficult to see God's hand at work in your life. He may seem hidden, far away or totally out of reach... and yet, nothing could be farther from the truth. God is always watching over us , and is always working "behind the scenes". Sometimes, it's only after His miracles happen, that we can see His hand in all of this, but it's there... It's always been there. We need to remember this, and even though we can't see His hand, we can trust His heart.

Do Not Worry

25"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life[a]?

28"And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? 31So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Matthew 6:25-34

Helen Keller is quoted as having said, "When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has been opened for us."
