Thy Will 2016.10.01

Isaiah 41:10 "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."

I've been hearing this song on the radio and it's really inspired me to seriously reflect upon my faith. It was written by someone who had a miscarriage, explaining her pain & suffering, and yet it's refrain references that God's Will be done. He sees & hear all, and that the person's faith will remain in Him, irregardless of their pain & loss.

Whether we want to admit it or not, we've all been hurt... Our bodies & minds may gotten over it, and we may say that we've grown but have we? Most of the times, our hearts have been "changed" because of what's happened, because our initial reaction is to protect ourselves. Our 'learning lesson" is more on how to prevent that from happening or hurting again. We are the people we are today because of the our life experiences, and this includes the times we get hurt. And, in most cases unfortunately, it propels us slowly to close out a hearts, piece by piece... And we can especially do this to God.

It's so easy to lash out & point fingers when we're hurt, especially to God who could've prevented our pain from happening. From bad days, to marital/family problems, to health issues and loss... We end up crying out "Why God?!" And yet, it's impossible for us to see the bigger picture - God does not want us to hurt or suffer because of His overabundant love for each of us - He is there to help us, as noted in Isa 41:10. But He does want you to have complete faith, trust, & hope in Him because He knows all, sees all and is the overcomer of our "impossible".

This message wasn't written to minimize a person's pain, but to comfort in that God can heal your scars... but it means giving it over to Him. God is "God" for a reason. It is imperfect human nature to want to protect ourselves, and yet we also say "God is our Rock, strength, refuge..." During the extremely difficult times, we really have to let God be those things for us.

We have to be SO in love with Him, it's feasible when "things are good", but close to impossible when they are the farthest from it. More than ever, we need that love to continue walking in the direction He wants us to (towards Him) because we are incapable of doing it on our own.... we do it anyways because of who God truly is. God is our loving, perfect Father, period. And that doesn't change because we are hurting. As I had mentioned before in a previous post, sometimes being hurt can open our eyes to a stronger relationship with Him... a deeper healing we didn't know that we needed... a deeper love for Him we didn't know could exist. His character is abundant and faithful.
