2016.09.29 Standing Strong When You Cant
Isaiah 40:31 "but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."
Doubt is the antagonist of faith. How many times has one drop of doubt shaken your faith? Causing your happiness to deplete like bathwater down an open drain? Look at the very definition of the word and how it dispells faith:
We all grow tired, get beaten & bruised... we end up simply wanting a break fom what we're going thru... sometimes it seems like it's too much to bear. And yet, we need to remember our declaration to God - "Jesus is Lord".
Because Jesus is strong, we can be strong. His blood has washed away our insecurities, inadequacies & inabilities. Despite the frustrations around us, we can still love each other because Jesus truly loves us. During difficult times, the following scripture wasn't meant for the offenders, but us:
1 Peter 4:8 "Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins."
I know, the last thing that we want to do when we're weak or beaten is to "keep giving" or "doing". We want people to do for us in moments like this... But what we sometimes forget is that the Most Important Person hasn't forgotten us & continues to "do" for us - God. He truly loves us because it covers over a multitude of our sins. He continues to protect & guide us, but all we have to do pass that love onto others, through the form of forgiveness and a softened heart.
