Hebrews 11:11 "And by faith even Sarah, who was past childbearing age, was enabled to bear children because she[a] considered him faithful who had made the promise."

Sarah's example can be applied to each & every one of us - She was born with "lacking" and needs. She even treated God's message with ridicule (before she knew that it was from God)! And yet we all know how her story turns out! A mother in her 90's, and the matriarch to Abraham's family. Hagar may have been used to give Abraham a son, but God could only use Sarah to complete what He had in store for Abraham. She is so critical in His Plan, that she is mentioned 113 time s in the bible!

How similar we are to her as well! We too are born lacking, but it's because they are meant to draw us closer to the one person who can help us - God. Even after witnessing miracles that may not directly include us, claiming to know God & His power, how overcome with disbelief are we when He promises us? My heart, my head, family, job, my health... "Nahhh! This will never change!" We may even mock God's promise to us... Just like Sarah.

I think that it's funny how I have always been able to encourage people with what God has in store for them, and yet I am my own worst enemy in my relationship with God. How easily I can derail my hope in Him. Luckily, no one can ever stop God's plan from coming to fruition, not even ourselves. God is greater than a barren womb, lack of faith, or our own worst enemy.
