Daily Scripture 2016.07.21
Ephesians 4:2-3 "2 Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. 3 Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace."
Paul spent the first 3 chapters in Ephesians, spelling out what God has done for us. And now he calls us on what we need to do. A walk with God can never happen unless we are humble & gentle. Some people believe that to "be patient" means that the person has the power to take revenge, but never does. Being patient is the characteristic of a forgiving heart.
"Unity" has been the word on my mind for a while now... And i've been contemplating on "how can I help unity grow in my church?" But this scripture says that it was never mine to create! We must "make every effort to KEEP the unity of the Spirit". Our duty is to recognize it.
May God continue to bless our hearts, molding us into the men that He sees us to be!
