Daily Scripture 2016.07.25
Psalm 139 23:-24 "23 Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. 24 See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting."
It's amazing in how we've changed because of our relationship with God. "Pre-Jesus", I could care less if you knew my heart (unless you were someone of importance in my life), "test me" and you'd get hurt. I was so private that no one knew my thoughts, period! And if there as something offensive in me, oh well! God is amazing in His impact upon each & every one of us.
And yet this scripture starts with a request for God to closely examine us, because we sincerely desire to please God in all ways. We're not trying to hide from God, as if that was possible! We ask God to test us, try us & refine what He finds offensive. Even precious metals are made more valuable thru refinement of fire.
David closes out his prayer by expressing his real desire thru all of this - Following God's way. Nothing in us matters... We need to change the things in us that God does not like or approve of.
The change in our lives from "Pre-Jesus" to now is our personal testimony to God, and it is amazing!
