Galatians 5:16 "So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh."
God says that IF we walk by the Spirit, we will not gratify in the desires of the flesh. Done deal. But this doesn't mean that if we do, we're free to sin. The word "walk" is progressive, meaning it's something that requires time & effort. And our "walk by the spirit" is no different.
To walk by the Spirit means that it lives within you, that are hearts are open to it, and our lives are patterned after it's influence. In essence, when we walk by the Spirit, we look like Jesus.
