1 John 47:21 "And he has given us this command: Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister."

I struggle with love sometimes because I struggle with rejection. In my head, situations play out where I am left feeling unloved or unwanted (despite the fact that this is completely untrue). It's not easy to explain and even more difficult to understand (and not dismiss so easily with a "just stop it") without knowing what has programmed me to react this way - Childhood, family, experiences, ... And yet we are commanded to love one another - not so easy when we struggle with a person or with the fear of rejection.

God is the source of love, and he gifts us this love everyday. It's God's sacrificial saving action so that we might find everlasting life.

The devil knows our weaknesses, and whispers words into our ears to fuel our insecurities... he wants us to remain where we are - stuck in our issues, focused more on that than God.

1 John 4:21 commands us to love each other because God has loved us.

We need to remember that during the tough times, bc it's so easy to stop remembering. And in remembering His love, we can stop with self-focus and begin to love "the unlovable" .
