God Is Always With Us 2017.05.18


I was listening to a slower version of an older EDM (electronic dance music) dance song recently: Above & Beyond's Satellite [somewhat acoustic] [click here for the video].The first couple of lines are:
"My love is like footsteps in the snow...
I follow you every where you go..."
It's a much mellower, more beautiful version of the original... [click here for the video]. I've always been a fan of EDM, not only because of it's energy (I used to call this "audible adrenalin"), and rhythm, but also because, most of the time, they're songs about love. To me (in my warped mind), they are my "gospel songs" without remotely being gospel songs. The love that they speak of, unrealistic in the "real world" (so to speak), doesn't even begin to describe the love God has for us.


When you look at the graphic above, most people will think that they are alone - one lonely set of footprints. But if you take a different perspective, it's the footsteps that are following you. Doesn't matter if you go left, right or simply stop - They are always right behind you. That's God.

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.


Joshua 1:9


Why does it seem as if our faith in God are like ocean tides - They come & go. One moment, we are so strong and diligent for God, and other times, we are struggling to "see" Him in our lives. What's funny is that, the scriptures don't lie - God does is not a "fair-weather friend"... He does not take a break from us, or needs to set up "healthy boundaries" between us. He is never away from us, so it all depends upon ourselves.

And that should bring immense comfort, knowing that God is always there with us. When we feel alone, depressed even, this scripture should energize us into "re-knowing" that God is there w\us. When friends & loved ones don't understand what we're going through, God knows, and He cares. He is working our problems, and we don't even realize it.

But now, this is what the Lord says—
he who created you, Jacob,
he who formed you, Israel:
"Do not fear, for I have redeemed you;
I have summoned you by name; you are mine.
2When you pass through the waters,
I will be with you;
and when you pass through the rivers,
they will not sweep over you.
When you walk through the fire,
you will not be burned;
the flames will not set you ablaze.
3For I am the Lord your God,
the Holy One of Israel, your Savior;
I give Egypt for your ransom,
Cush[a] and Seba in your stead.

13Yes, and from ancient days I am he.
No one can deliver out of my hand.
When I act, who can reverse it?"


Joshua 43:1-3,13


God is with us, leading, guiding, loving & providing for us - and with the power He has, there is nothing He can't do. What is it that you need right now? Strength? Peace? Endurance? Love? Joy? Hope? He has it all, and is longing to bless us with those things. We need to receive what He has for us, but thru faith. For all of the effort we put into thinking that we are alone, we need to put even more effort into realizing how much God loves us, and that He has a purpose for our lives.

For this reason I kneel before the Father, 15from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. 16I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being


Ephesians 3:14-16


This is the mindset we have, towards God, when times are awesome. And this is what we need to fight within ourselves to hold onto when the times are tough. We need to "speak" the Scriptures to our hearts. We please the devil when we struggle in our faith. But we tick him off when we confidently speak God's Word, because in doing so, it builds our faith & gives us the strength to stand in Him.

O Lord, you have searched me [thoroughly] and have known me.
2You know when I sit down and when I rise up [my entire life, everything I do];
You understand my thought from afar.
3You scrutinize my path and my lying down,
And You are intimately acquainted with all my ways.
4Even before there is a word on my tongue [still unspoken],
Behold, O Lord, You know it all.
5You have enclosed me behind and before,
And [You have] placed Your hand upon me.
6Such [infinite] knowledge is too wonderful for me;
It is too high [above me], I cannot reach it.


Psalm 139:1-6


You can always trust in God. No matter what's going on in your life, He is there! God is always the "footsteps" in our lives... that close, and that consistent.

So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. 36You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.
