"I am my own worst enemy"

I think that most of us live these words, but I've slowly learned this to be a great testimony because, no matter how strong my "negative side" may be, God's much stronger. I am far from perfect, but I am closer to it today (because of Him), than I was when I dedicated my life to Him. And I am so grateful for that. For as much as my "negative side" tells me of how much of a monster or failure I am, God's like "stop listening to that mess... You are so much better than what you're being told." This has always been true, but I found it funny when I started to "see" or believe it!

You don't have to convince me that I'm a mess and that I will never NOT be a mess. And just as my son needs correction from time to time, we are God's children and He is always watching over us, correcting & guiding us. And He doesn't do it with a "frustrated face" or tone... He does it in perfect love. And yet, I constantly struggle with remembering that I can overcome my issues & insecurities thru Him. Yet God, the Almighty, loves us so much that He does our fighting for us... especially when the fight's within ourselves.

4You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. 5They are from the world and therefore speak from the viewpoint of the world, and the world listens to them. 6We are from God, and whoever knows God listens to us; but whoever is not from God does not listen to us. This is how we recognize the Spirit[a] of truthand the spirit of falsehood.


1 John 4:4-6


The devil knows my weaknesses and there is no one greater who can play it against us (Well, God can but He wouldn't so...) We are pleasing to God, and yet when we put ourselves down:
"I'm no good to anyone"
"I'll never be good at "
"I hate my body"
"No one will ever love me"
the feeling can be likened to a parent listening to a child putting themself down, only multiplied to infinity... THAT's how much God loves us. Every imperfect molecule was designed by Him... the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

We must do our best to not only fight the struggles that we place upon ourselves, but reaffirm our faith in Him who can overcome any obstacle.
