#Grace 2017.08.21
As disciples, the very definition of the word grace should be readily available to us. Our relationship with God is due to God's grace.
The scriptures have spoken about God's grace for 2,000 years:
4But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. 6And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, 7in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. 8For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9not by works, so that no one can boast. | ||
Ephesians 2:4-9 |
And although we all have faith, what truly saves us is God's grace, and that came in the form of His Son. There is no way that anyone can say that they contributed to this on any level. Grace through faith means that we stop working to try & save ourselves. Grace is just given - it doesn't reflect upon your performance, attitude, victories or defeats. And why does this matter? Probably because, if we had to earn it, it could also be taken away. Or, we would never get it in the first place. And one way that we show the world about God's grace is by falling & getting back up. We fall and we get back up, over & over. It's His grace that allows us to endure, His grace that makes His strength available, and His grace that is sufficient we come across each day.
