Loneliness And The Example 2016.10.06
Loneliness isn't "being alone" - It's "the feeling of being alone". And it's something that we've all felt throughout our lives, whether you're single, dating or married. Sometimes it's something we can shrug off by calling a friend, but others may have a harder time battling it. But believe it or not, Jesus probably knew best about the feelings of loneliness.
He was despised and rejected by mankind,
a man of suffering, and familiar with pain.
Isaiah 53:3
Jesus & loneliness - Let's sum it up: Left His life in heaven to live on imperfect earth, was perfect among the imperfect, it is probable that his parents didn't fully understand him, being imperfect, with imperfect siblings (and we know how kids can get at times), how He was probably tempted with resentment quite often... No one on earth could identify with Him, no one could put their arm around Him and say "I know exactly what you're going thru." But it all came to a head when he went from being sinless, to "being sin" when He was crucified - He was truly alone as this put a wall between Him & God.
We may all struggle with loneliness from time to time, or on a regular basis, but Jesus is definitely the man who understands what we are going through. Jesus felt what we all feel, but on a metaphysical level! And yet, He welcomes you with open, loving arms because we are His children, because He has been there, and He wants to help! We need to go to Jesus in prayer, study upon the Word, and use His Example on how to live our lives so we can shake off this feeling of loneliness, because it is the devil's tactic. Jesus will never leave us.
