What Is Your Dream Title? 2017.01.14
Take a second and think about this with some effort & sincerity: What do you want to be known for, or called? For me, I'd be happy with any of the following:

But look at what God calls David:
22After removing Saul, he made David their king. God testified concerning him: ‘I have found David son of Jesse, a man after my own heart; he will do everything I want him to do.’ | ||
Acts 13:22 |
It can be said without argument that David truly deserved that title. He had such incredible qualities that we can all aspire to have.
But how would God describe you? Better yet, what could you say about yourself?
- "I am a child of God": Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God (John 1:12)
- "I am a friend of Jesus": I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. (John 15:15)
- "I have no reason to be afraid": I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you. (Luke 10:19)
- "I have been redeemed": and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemptionthat came by Christ Jesus. (Romans 3:24)
- "My former self was crucified with Jesus, and I am no longer a slave to sin": For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with,[a] that we should no longer be slaves to sin (Romans 6:6)
- "My body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who dwells in me": Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own (1 Corinthians 6:19)
This list can be much longer but it just goes to show how we are truly blessed to be God's children/disciple/heir. And yet, how often do we live our lives mundanely? We are content "barely making it by"? The more we embrace these truths (and the countless others), the more we truly accept who we have become in Jesus, the more stable, strong, happy, grateful & fully assured we will be in this world.
